F.J. is a local artist from Santa Cruz, California. He achieved his BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He also received a Master’s Certificate in Science Illustration from UCSC.
In 2010, F.J. traveled to New Zealand where he illustrated the local marine environment for the New Zealand Marine Studies Centre at the University of Otago, Dunedin. Since then he has been working on a series of sky and seascape paintings. His artwork speaks to his passion for the ocean.
I’ve been fortunate to grow up near the ocean. The combination of being surrounded by the beauty of land, sea and sky and by encouraging family and friends has given me an appreciation of this natural setting and an inspiration to create art.
